The Coming of the Lord

1. I am present among humanity at a time when new discoveries have transformed people's lives, and I make my presence among you felt with the same humility that you once knew in Me.

2. The "Word" of God has not become flesh again; Christ has not been born anew in the poverty of a stable—no; for it is no longer necessary for a body to bear witness to the power of God. If people believe that this body here is God come into the world, they are mistaken. The presence of God is spiritual, universal, infinite.

3. If everything that people have achieved in this age were within the bounds of what is just, permissible, and good, it would not have been necessary for Me to come down to speak to you once more. But not all the works that this humanity offers Me are good: there are many transgressions, many injustices, many deviations, and many evil deeds. Therefore, it was necessary for My caring love to awaken humanity when it was most deeply immersed in its work, to remind it of the duties it has forgotten and to Whom it owes everything that is and everything that will be.

4. In order to make Myself audible to a materialized humanity that could not perceive Me from spirit to spirit, I had to make use of their spiritual gifts and abilities to reveal Myself through the human intellect.

5. The explanation for why I "come down" to communicate with you is this: Since you were unable to rise up to converse with your Lord from spirit to spirit, I had to descend one level lower—that is, from the spiritual, from the divine, to where you cannot yet reach. I then had to make use of your organ of reason, which has its place in the human brain, and translate My divine inspiration into human words and material sounds.

6. Humanity requires expanded knowledge, and it is God who comes to humanity to entrust it with wisdom. If the chosen means for My brief message through the intellectual faculties of these spokespeople does not seem worthy to you, I tell you in truth that the message conveyed through them is very great. You would have preferred that My revelation to humanity had taken place with pomp and ceremony that would have made an impression, but which, in reality, from the perspective of the Spirit, would have been vain because they contain no true light.

7. I could have come amid lightning and storms to make My power tangible; yet how easy it would then have been for people to acknowledge that the presence of the Lord had come! But do you not think that fear would then have returned to your hearts, along with the notion of something incomprehensible? Do you not believe that every feeling of love for the Father would have been transformed into nothing but fear of His justice? Yet you must know that God, though He is almighty power, will not defeat you through this power, will not assert Himself through it, but through another power, and that is the power of love.

8. It is the Divine Spirit who speaks to the universe today. It is He who brings light to all that you have not clearly recognized in other times. He is the dawn of a new day for all people, for He will free you from false fears, dispel your doubts, and set your soul and mind free.

9. I tell you: Once you have come to know the essence of my teachings and the justice of my laws, you will also recognize the limits that your own conceptions have imposed upon you and have prevented you from going beyond a superficial understanding of the truth.

10. It will no longer be fear or dread of punishment that keeps you from seeking and discovering. Only if you truly wish to know what is incomprehensible to you will your conscience bar the way; for you must know that the whole truth is not meant for man, and that he is to grasp only that part of it which corresponds to him.

11. People: If My coming was foretold as taking place amidst wars, the unleashed forces of nature, plagues, and chaos, this did not happen because I brought all this upon you; it happened because My presence would be of help to humanity precisely in that hour of crisis.

12. Here, then, is the fulfillment of all that has been said about My return. I come to humanity while a world struggles with death and the earth trembles and shakes in its death throes to make way for a new humanity. Therefore, God's call in the "Third Era" is a call of love—a love that embodies and inspires justice, brotherhood, and peace.

13. The Word of Christ once took root in His disciples, and its seed grew among the people who followed them. His teaching spread, and its meaning went out over the whole world. So too will this present teaching spread, to be accepted by all those who are capable of feeling and understanding it. (296, 17-27, 35)

All eyes will look upon Me

14. Jesus said to His disciples, "I will be away from you only for a short time—I will return." Afterward, it was revealed to them that their Master would come "on the cloud," surrounded by angels, and sending rays of light down to the earth.

15. Here I am now "on the cloud," surrounded by angels, who are the spiritual beings that have manifested among you as messengers of My divinity and as your good counselors. The rays of light are My Word, which brings you new revelations, which floods every mind with wisdom.

16. Blessed are those who have believed without seeing, for they are the ones who feel My presence. (142, 50–52)

17. Through their spirit, people will discover the truth; all will feel My presence; for I have already told you in due time that every eye will see Me when the time comes.

18. Now, this time in which you live is precisely the one foretold through My Word and My prophets of old, in which all people shall see Me through the perceptions and faculties of their spirit.

19. It will not be necessary for them to see Me limited to a human form in order to say that they have seen Me; rather, it will suffice for their spirit to feel Me and their mind to comprehend Me, so that they may truthfully say that they have seen Me.

20. Love, faith, and intelligence can see infinitely farther than your eyes are capable of. Therefore, I tell you that it is not necessary for Me to limit My presence to a human form or through any symbolic figure in order to cause you to see Me.

21. How many of those who saw Me in that "Second Era" or journeyed with Me did not even know who I was. How many, on the other hand, who did not even know of My birth as a human being, beheld Me in the spirit, recognized Me by My light, and rejoiced in My presence because of their faith.

22. Open all your eyes and prove through your faith that you are the children of light. You can all see Me, but for this it is essential that you have good will and faith. (340, 45-51)

23. I tell you: If this humanity, because of its lack of love, its turning away from justice and goodness, should be even more opposed to Me, I will appear on its path in all My glory, as I did before Saul, and I will make them hear My voice.

24. Then you will see how many of those who—without realizing it—have persecuted Me will be transformed and enlightened, and will set out to follow Me on the paths of goodness, love, and justice.

25. To them I will say: Stop, travelers, and drink from this spring of crystal-clear water. Rest from the arduous journey of life that I have laid upon you. Entrust your sorrows to Me and allow My gaze to penetrate deep into your soul, for I wish to fill you with grace and comfort you. (82, 46)

26. My love will make the most sensitive strings of your hearts tremble. But it will be the harmony with your conscience that allows you to hear My divine concert, and many of you will see Me in the spiritual form of Jesus.

27. I must point out to you that the form of Jesus is not the most perfect way in which you will see Me. When I told you in times past, "All eyes shall see Me," I was letting you know that you will all come to know the truth, though I must tell you that I will limit Myself according to the development of each soul. Yet as you ascend the ladder to perfection, you will certainly see Me in all My glory.

28. Do not now try to imagine Me in any way. Consider: If your spirit, though limited, is essence, is light—what form could the Universal Spirit of your Lord, who has neither beginning nor end, possibly have? Leave the unfathomable within the pages of My Book of Divine Wisdom. (314, 69–70)

29. In My Word of the "Second Era," I let you know that I would come to you anew, that My spiritual hosts would descend with Me. But humanity has not properly understood or interpreted the meaning of My Word.

30. That is why every religious community expects Me in their midst; that is why they expect to see Me with their mortal eyes; yet those who now expect Me in this way are the very ones who once denied that Jesus was the Messiah and regarded Him as a dreamer.

31. Today I say to you, My disciples: The moment will come when you will see Me in all My glory. At that time, the earth and its inhabitants will be purified, and the virtue and beauty of the soul will be restored. Pain will vanish, and all will be bliss, an endless "day" without end for you. Do you not wish to behold these wonders? Do you not wish for your children to commune with My Spirit and, free from sin, create a world of peace? (181, 74, 81)

32. If humanity had understood how to fathom the prophecies of the First and the "Second Era," it would not be confused by their fulfillment. The same thing happened in the "Second Era" when the Messiah was born among humanity, just as it is happening now that I have come in the Spirit.

33. The essence of My teaching is the same in both eras. It prepares you to make of this life a loving, albeit transient, home where people regard and treat one another as brothers and sisters, and extend to one another the warmth of true brotherhood.

34. Also prepare the soul to enter, after this life, those worlds or abodes that the Lord has in store for His children. My wish is that when you reach them, you will not feel like strangers, but that your spiritualization and your inner knowledge will allow you to see everything you encounter as if you had already been there before. There will be much truth in this if you are already connected to the spiritual here through prayer. (82, 9-10)

35. I am the traveler who knocks at the doors of your hearts. I knock, and you do not know who it is; you open and do not recognize Me. I am like the traveler who comes to a village and has no one who knows him, like the stranger who enters a foreign land and is not understood in his language. That is how I feel among you. When will you feel My presence? O people, when will you recognize Me, just as Joseph was recognized by his brothers in Egypt in his time? (90, 1)
