fr-Chapter 19 – The Triunity of God

V. Forms of Revelation and the Work of God
The Unity of God with Christ and the Holy Spirit
1. The light of My Word will unite people in this Third Age. My truth will shine in every mind, thereby causing differences in creeds and cults to disappear.
2. While today some love Me in Jehovah and deny Christ, others love Me in Christ and do not know Jehovah; while some acknowledge My existence as the Holy Spirit, others quarrel and are divided over My Trinity.
3. And now I ask this humanity and those who guide them spiritually: Why do you distance yourselves from one another, when you all profess the true God? If you love Me in Jehovah, you are in the truth. If you love Me through Christ—He is the Way, the Truth, and the Life. If you love Me as the Holy Spirit, you draw near to the light.
4. You have only one God, only one Father. There are not three divine persons existing in God, but only one Divine Spirit, who has revealed Himself to humanity during three different stages of development. As they delved into this depth, humanity, in its childishness, believed it saw three persons where only a single Divine Spirit exists. Therefore, when you hear the name Jehovah, think of God as Father and Judge. When you think of Christ, recognize in Him God as Master, as Love; and when you seek to fathom the origin of the Holy Spirit, know that He is none other than God when He reveals His immeasurable wisdom to such disciples who are more advanced.
5. If I had found the humanity of the "First Age" spiritually as developed as it is today, I would have revealed Myself to them as Father, as Master, and as Holy Spirit; then people would not have seen three deities where there is only one. But they were not capable of interpreting My teachings correctly, and would have been confused and stayed away from My path, continuing to create accessible and small gods according to their own ideas.
6. As soon as people realize and accept this truth, they will regret having misunderstood one another because of an error they could have avoided with a little love.
7. If Christ is love, can you believe that He is independent of Jehovah, when I am love?
8. If the Holy Spirit is wisdom, do you believe that this Spirit exists independently of Christ, when I am wisdom? Do you think the "Word" and the Holy Spirit are two different things?
9. It is enough to know just a little of the Word that Jesus taught humanity to understand that only one God has existed and will eternally be the only one. That is why I said through him: "Whoever knows the Son knows the Father, because he is in Me and I am in him." Later, when he announced that he would return to humanity at another time, he did not merely say, "I will come again," but he promised to send the Holy Spirit, the Spirit of the Comforter, the Spirit of Truth.
10. Why should Christ come apart from the Holy Spirit? Could He not bring with Him, in His Spirit, the truth, the light, and the comfort? (1:66–70, 73–76)
11. I am your Master; yet do not see Me as separate from the Father, for I am the Father.
12. There is no difference between the Son and the Holy Spirit, for the Holy Spirit and the Son are one Spirit, and that Spirit is I.
13. In My revelations throughout the ages, see a single God who has taught you through many and varied lessons: a single book with many pages. (256, 4)
The Three Ways of God's Revelation
14. Now you know the reason why the Father has revealed Himself in stages, and you also understand the error of men regarding the concept of the Trinity.
15. Do not try any longer to give Me a physical form in your imagination, for there is no form in My Spirit, just as intelligence, love, or wisdom have no form.
16. I tell you this because many imagine Me in the form of an old man when they think of the Father; yet I am not an old man, for I am outside of time, and My Spirit has no age.
17. When you think of Christ, you immediately form the physical image of Jesus in your mind. Yet I tell you that Christ, Divine Love incarnate, My Word made flesh, when He left His physical body, merged with My Spirit, from which He had come forth.
18. Yet when you speak of the Holy Spirit, you use the symbol of the dove to try to imagine Him in some form. But I tell you that the time of symbols is over, and that for this reason, when you feel under the influence of the Holy Spirit, you receive Him as inspiration, as light in your spirit, as clarity that dispels uncertainties, mysteries, and darkness. (39, 42, 44–47)
19. From age to age, people have gained an ever clearer conception of Me. Those who have come to know Me through Christ have a conception that is closer to the truth than those who know Me only through the laws of Moses. That God, whom the multitudes followed and obeyed out of fear of His justice, was later sought as a Father and Master when the seed of Christ's love sprouted in their hearts. (112, 3)
20. I stand above the ages, above all creation; My Divine Spirit is not subject to evolution. I am eternal and perfect—unlike you, who most certainly have a beginning, who are entirely subject to the laws of evolution, and who, moreover, feel the passage of time over your existence.
21. Therefore, do not say that the Father belongs to one age, Christ to another, and the Holy Spirit to yet another. For the Father is eternal and belongs to no age, but the ages are His; and Christ, when He had departed as a human being, is God Himself, just as the Holy Spirit, who is none other than your Father Himself, is preparing His highest form of revelation among you—that is, without the aid of any earthly mediator. (66, 43)
22. I have explained to you that what you call the Father is the absolute power of God, the Universal Creator, the only Uncreated One; that He whom you call "Son" is Christ, that is, the revelation of the Father's perfect love for His creatures, and that what you call the "Holy Spirit" is the wisdom that God sends to you as light in this time, when your spirit is capable of better understanding My revelations.
23. That light of the Holy Spirit, that wisdom of God, will soon reign in this third age that you are seeing dawn, and will enlighten the minds of a humanity in need of spirituality, thirsting for truth, and hungry for love.
24. It is equally true, people, that a single God has revealed Himself to humanity, albeit in three different aspects: If you seek love in the works of the Father in that first age, you will find it; and if you seek the light of wisdom, you will likewise discover it, just as in the works and words of Christ you will encounter not only love, but also power and wisdom. What, then, would be strange about discovering in the works of the Holy Spirit in this age not only strength, law, and power, but also love, tenderness, and the healing balm? (293, 20–21, 259, 25–26)
25. Law, love, wisdom—these are the three forms of revelation in which I have revealed Myself to humanity, so that on its path of development it may have a firm conviction and a complete knowledge of its Creator. These three phases of revelation differ from one another, but they all have one and the same origin, and in their totality they constitute absolute perfection. (165, 56)
26. In Me are the Judge, the Father, and the Master—three distinct phases of revelation in a single Being, three centers of power, and a single essence of Being: Love. (109, 40)
27. I am Jehovah, who has delivered you from death at all times. I am the one God who has spoken to you at all times. Christ is my "Word" that spoke to you through Jesus. He told you, "Whoever knows the Son knows the Father." And the Holy Spirit who speaks to you today is likewise I; for there is only one Holy Spirit, only one "Word," and this is mine.
28. Hear, My disciples: In the "First Age" I gave you the Law; in the Second I taught you the love with which you should interpret those commandments; and now, in this third age, I send you the Light so that you may penetrate the meaning of all that has been revealed to you.
29. Why, then, do you insist on discovering three deities where there exists only one Divine Spirit, which is Mine?
30. I gave the first humans the Law, and yet I announced to Moses that I would send the Messiah. Christ, through whom I gave you My "Word," told you, as His mission was already coming to an end: "I am returning to the Father from whom I came." He also told you: "The Father and I are One." Yet afterward, He promised to send you the Spirit of Truth, who, according to My will and in accordance with your development, would illuminate the mystery of My revelations.
31. But who can shed light on My mysteries and explain these mysteries? Who can break the seals of the book of My wisdom except Me?
32. Truly, I tell you, the Holy Spirit, whom you currently regard as something distinct from Jehovah and Christ, is nothing other than the wisdom I reveal to your spirit so that you may comprehend, see, and feel the truth. (32:22–27)
33. Unite in your mind and spirit My revelations as God, which proclaim the Law to you; my revelations as Father, which reveal my infinite love to you, and my teachings as Master, which reveal my wisdom to you; then from all of this you will receive an essence, a divine purpose: that you may come to Me on the path of spiritual light—something more than just a message to you. I wish to lead you into My own kingdom, where I am ever present, forever within you. (324, 58)
34. It will not be the first time that people have struggled to interpret a divine revelation or to gain clarity on a matter that presents itself to their eyes as a mystery. Even in the "Second Era," after My ministry on earth, people debated the personality of Jesus and wanted to know whether He was divine or not, whether He was one with the Father or a person distinct from Him. In every way, they judged and examined My teaching.
35. Now I will once again be the subject of interpretations, discussions, debates, and investigations.
36. People will examine whether the Spirit of Christ, when He revealed Himself, was independent of the Spirit of the Father; and there will be others who say that it was the Holy Spirit who spoke, and not the Father nor the Son.
37. Yet what you call the "Holy Spirit" is the Light of God, and what you call the "Son" is His "Word." Therefore, when you hear this Word here, when you make use of my teaching of the "Second Era," or when you reflect on the Law and the revelations of the "First Era," be aware that you are in the presence of the One God, hearing His Word and receiving the light of His Spirit. (216, 39–42)
God as the Creative Spirit and Father
38. I am the essence of all creation. Everything lives through My infinite power. I am in every body and in every form. I am in each of you, but you must prepare yourselves and become receptive so that you may feel and discover Me.
39. I am the breath of life for all beings, for I am life itself. Therefore, I have made it clear to you that since I am present in all your works, it is not necessary to fashion My image in clay or marble in order to worship Me or to feel Me near you. This misunderstanding has only served to lead humanity into idolatry.
40. Through My Word, you sense the harmony that exists between the Father and all creation; you understand that I am the essence that nourishes all beings, and that you are a part of Myself. (185, 26–28)
41. The Spirit of the Father is invisible, but He reveals Himself in an infinite variety of forms. The entire universe is merely a material manifestation of Divinity. All creation is a reflection of Truth.
42. I have surrounded the existence of the souls, who are children of My Divinity, with a variety of life forms according to the place they inhabit, into which I have placed wisdom, beauty, vitality, and meaning, in order to give each of these abodes the most visible proof of My existence and a conception of My power. I point out to you that the meaning of life consists in love, in knowledge, and in the recognition of truth. (168, 9-10)
43. Disciples, the three natures of being have emerged from Me: the divine, the spiritual, and the material. As the Creator and Owner of all creation, I can speak to you in a manner that is both divine and comprehensible. Since the material nature emerged from Me, I can also make My voice and My Word audible physically, so that I may make Myself understood by humankind.
44. I am perfect knowledge, the origin of all things, the cause of all causes, and the light that illuminates everything. I stand above all creation, above all learning. (161, 35–36)
45. Now is the time of understanding, of the enlightenment of the soul and the mind, in which man will finally seek Me spiritually, because he will recognize that God is neither a person nor a figment of the imagination, but unlimited and absolute universal Spirit. (295, 29)
Christ, the Love and the Word of God
46. Before the Father revealed Himself to humanity in Jesus, He sent you His revelations, making use of material forms and events. Under the name "Christ," you came to know Him who proclaimed the love of God among men; yet when He came to earth, He had already revealed Himself as the Father, which is why you should not say that Christ was born into the world—it was Jesus who was born, the body in which Christ dwelt.
47. Reflect, and you will eventually understand Me and acknowledge that Christ existed even before Jesus, for Christ is the love of God. (16:6–7)
48. Here I am with you, giving you strength to fight for the eternal peace of your soul. But truly, I tell you, even before humanity came to know Me, I was already enlightening you from infinity and speaking to your hearts. For since I am one with the Father, I have always been in Him. Ages had to pass over humanity before the world received Me in Jesus and heard the Word of God, although I must tell you that not all who heard My teaching at that time had the necessary spiritual development to feel the presence of God in Christ. (300, 30)
49. In Jehovah, you believed you recognized a cruel, terrible, and vengeful God. Then, to free you from your error, the Lord sent you Christ, His Divine Love, so that "by knowing the Son, you might know the Father"; and yet, humanity—ignorant and once again entangled in its sin—believes it sees an angry and offended Jesus, who is merely waiting for the arrival in the "Spiritual Valley" of those who have hurt him, so that he may say to them, "Depart from me, I do not know you"; and so that he may immediately subject them to the most cruel torments in eternity.
50. It is time for you to understand the meaning of My teachings, so that you do not fall prey to error. Divine Love will not prevent you from coming to Me; yet if you do not make amends for your faults, it will be the relentless Judge of your conscience who tells you that you are not worthy to enter the Kingdom of Light. (16, 46-47)
51. I want you to be like your Master, so that you may rightly call yourselves My disciples. My legacy consists of love and wisdom. It was Christ who came to you, and it is Christ who speaks to you at this very moment; yet do not try to separate Me from God or to see Me as existing apart from Him, for I am and have always been one with the Father.
52. I have told you that Christ is Divine Love; therefore, do not try to separate Me from the Father. Do you believe that He is a Father without love for His children? How did you come to that conclusion? It is time for you to realize this.
53. No one should be ashamed to call God, the Creator, Father, for this is His true name. (19, 57–58)
54. In Jesus, the world beheld its God made man. From Him, people received only lessons of love, teachings of infinite wisdom, proofs of perfect justice, but never a word of violence, an act, or a sign of resentment. See instead how much He was insulted and mocked. He held authority and all power in His hand, as the whole world does not, but it was necessary for the world to come to know its Father in His true nature, His true justice, and mercy.
55. In Jesus, the world saw a Father who gives everything for His children without demanding anything for Himself in return; a Father who forgives the gravest insults with infinite love, without ever seeking revenge; and a Father who, instead of taking the lives of His children who offend Him, forgives them and, with His blood, marks out the path to their spiritual salvation. (160, 46-47)
56. As a human being, Jesus was your ideal and the embodiment of perfection; so that you might have in Him a model worthy of emulation, I wanted to teach you what a human being must be in order to become like his God.
57. There is one God, and Christ is one with Him, for He is the "Word" of the Godhead, the only way through which you can reach the Father of all creation. (21, 33-34)
58. Disciples, Christ is the highest manifestation of divine love; He is the light that is life in the realms of the spirit; the light that pierces the darkness and reveals the truth before every spiritual gaze, unravels the mysteries, opens the door, and shows the way to the wisdom, eternity, and perfection of souls. (91, 32)
The Holy Spirit—the Truth and Wisdom of God
59. In wisdom lies the healing power and the comfort your heart longs for. That is why I once promised you the Spirit of Truth as the Spirit of Comfort.
60. But it is absolutely necessary to have faith so as not to remain stagnant on the path of development nor to feel fear of trials. (263, 10-11)
61. This is the age of light, in which Divine Wisdom—which is the light of the Holy Spirit—will illuminate even the most secret recesses of the heart and soul. (277, 38)
