Divine Inspirations

1. Disciple: When My Word comes to you and you do not understand it, you doubt it. But I tell you: When uncertainty torments you, withdraw into the solitude of the fields, and there, in the midst of nature, where you have only the open fields, the mountains, and the firmament as witnesses, ask your Master once more. Immerse yourselves in His Word, and His loving answer will quickly reach you. Then you will feel uplifted, inspired, and filled with an unknown spiritual joy.

2. In this way, you will no longer be people of little faith, for you know that every word of God contains truth; yet to grasp it, one must enter into it with devotion and a pure heart, for it is a sanctuary.

3. Whenever you are prepared and wish to know something, your longing for light will attract the Divine Light. How often have I told you: Go into the solitude of the mountains and tell Me there of your worries, your sufferings, and your needs.

4. Jesus taught you these lessons in the "Second Era" through His example. Remember My example when I withdrew into the desert to pray before I began My ministry. Remember that in the last days of My life among men, even before I went to the synagogue to pray, I sought the solitude of the Mount of Olives to speak with the Father.

5. Nature is a temple of the Creator, where everything rises up to Him to worship Him. There you can receive the radiance of your Father directly and unadulterated. There, far from human selfishness and materialism, you will feel wise inspirations entering your hearts, moving you to do good on your path. (169, 28–31)

6. You must be alert, disciples, for I will speak to you not only through this medium; I will also make Myself known to your soul in the moments when your body sleeps. I will teach you to surrender to sleep with preparation and to detach your soul from the earthly, so that it may rise to the regions of light, where it will receive the revelation with which it illuminates its path, and then convey its message to the mind. (100, 30)

7. I have never been far from you, as you have sometimes believed, nor have I ever been indifferent to your sufferings, nor have I been deaf to your cries. This is what has happened: You have not made an effort to refine your higher senses, and you have expected to perceive Me with the senses of the flesh. But I tell you that the time when I granted this to humanity lies very far in the past.

8. If you had made a little effort to develop some of your spiritual faculties—such as inner elevation through spiritual contemplation, prayer, intuition, prophetic dreams, or spiritual visions—I assure you that through each of these you would connect with Me and thus receive answers to your questions and divine inspiration in your thoughts.

9. I am always ready to speak with you; I am always awaiting your spiritual elevation and readiness to please you and grant you the joy of revealing Myself to your spirit. All that is required is for you to prepare yourselves with the utmost sincerity to receive this grace. (324, 52–54)

10. Ask your scholars, and if they are honest, they will tell you that they have asked God for inspiration. I would grant them more inspiration if they asked Me for it with more love for their fellow human beings and with less vanity for themselves.

11. Truly, I tell you: All the true knowledge you have accumulated comes from Me. All that is pure and noble in humanity, I will use for your benefit in this time, for that is why I have granted it to you. (17, 59-60)

12. Now is a time when My Spirit speaks ceaselessly to the spirit, the soul, the mind, and the heart of people. My voice reaches people through thoughts and trials, through which many awaken to the truth of their own accord, since those who guide or instruct them are asleep and wish that the world would never awaken. (306, 63)

13. In the "Third Era," through the clarity of My revelations, I accomplished what was impossible for humanity: to communicate Myself through the human intellect.

14. Understand Me, disciples, for in the dialogue from spirit to spirit that awaits you, you will feel My presence eternally. If you know how to prepare yourselves, you will no longer say to Me: "Lord, why do You not come? Why do You not see my pain?" You will no longer speak to Me in this way. Truly, disciples, I tell you, whoever speaks to Me in this way will give tangible proof of his ignorance and lack of preparation.

15. I do not wish to see My disciples separated from Me; I want you to say to Me in your spirit: "Master, You are among us; our spirit feels You; Your wisdom is the source of my inspiration." This is the true confession I wish to hear from you. (316, 54)

Adapting Divine Revelations to Human Understanding

16. Your languages are too limited to reveal the Divine; therefore, I have always had to speak to you in parables, in symbolic images ; but now you see that—even when I have spoken to you in this way—you have understood Me little, because you lacked the necessary will to fathom My revelations. (14, 50)

17. In every age you have awaited Me, and yet—whenever I was with you, you did not recognize Me because of your lack of preparation and spirituality. I tell you: Whatever form My presence may take, it will always contain truth and divine life essence.

18. I have told you that I have made use of various forms to reveal Myself to the world. Yet these were not a mask to hide My Spirit from you, but rather they served to humanize Me, to limit Me, and thus to make Me audible and perceptible to humanity.

19. Now I tell you that before you pass judgment, you must first hear this voice until the moment of your conviction or enlightenment comes, when light dawns in the soul. (97, 11-12)

20. As long as people remain in their blindness and ignorance, they will be the reason why God, who is above all a Father, must humanize, limit, and diminish Himself before His children in order to be understood. When will you allow Me to reveal Myself to you in the glory in which you are meant to see Me?

21. You must be great in order to conceive of My greatness, and for that reason I come again and again to give you spiritual greatness, so that you may experience the infinite joy of knowing your Father, feeling His love, and hearing the divine concert that resounds above you. (99, 26-27)

22. The outward aspect of that revelation of the Father on Sinai was the stone, which served as the means to engrave the Divine Law upon it.

23. The external aspect of God's revelation to humanity through Jesus was the physical body, the human form of Christ.

24. In the present age, the outward aspect of My revelation has been the voice, which is why this form of revelation, like that of past ages, must come to an end.

25. Understand that you are the children of the Spiritualist people, who are not to be nourished by forms, but by the essence. If you understand My Word correctly, you will never again fall into idolatry, nor will you cling to external acts of worship, to rites, to the transitory, for you will always yearn for the essential, the eternal. (224, 69-71)

Different Types of Divine Revelations

26. Humanity would like to be visited by a new Messiah who would rescue them from the abyss, or at least to hear the voice of God, like a human voice, resounding in the air. Yet I tell you, it would be enough to observe a little or to gather your soul in meditation to make it sensitive, and you would already hear how everything speaks to you. If it seems impossible to you that stones speak, I tell you that not only the stones, but everything that surrounds you, speaks to you from your Creator, so that you may awaken from your dreams of grandeur, pride, and materialism. (61, 49)

27. The enlightened ones of times past always saw a radiance of light; they always heard My Word. The prophets, the inspired ones, the forerunners, the founders of teachings of high spirituality bore witness that they heard voices that seemed to come from the clouds, the mountains, the wind, or some place they could not precisely identify; that they heard the voice of God as if it were emerging from tongues of fire and mysterious echoes. Many heard, saw, and felt through their senses; others through their spiritual faculties; the same is happening in this age.

28. Truly, I tell you: Those who received My messages through their physical senses interpreted the divine inspiration spiritually, and they did so according to their physical and spiritual preparation, according to the time in which they lived in the world, just as it happens now with the human instruments whom you call "voice bearers" or "gift bearers." Yet I must tell you that in times past, just as in the present, they have mingled their own ideas—or those prevailing in their surroundings—with the purity of the divine revelations, and have knowingly or unknowingly altered the purity and the boundless nature of the truth, which in truth is love in its highest revelations.

29. The spiritual vibrations and inspirations were within them, and both the "First" and the "Last" have borne witness and will bear witness to this inspiration that reached their spirit, almost always without knowing how, in the same way that it happens today with many and will happen tomorrow with still others.

30. The words, the interpretations, and the manner of action are attributable to the people and the times in which they live, yet above all this stands the highest truth. (16, 11–14)

31. From time to time, it is necessary for My Spirit to reveal Himself in some way that is accessible and understandable to your comprehension. This necessity to speak to you is rooted in your disobedience to My Law, in your straying from the true path.

32. Because of the free will he enjoys, man is the most rebellious creature in creation. To this day, he has not been willing to submit to the dictates of his conscience.

33. My Word seeks to restrain some, to guide others, to strengthen all in the truth, and to rescue you from the abyss.

34. Do not take offense at the manner in which I now reveal Myself, which is so different from that of the "Second Era." Know that I have never used the same form twice, for that would mean keeping you stuck at one and the same instruction, and I always come to teach you new lessons and to help you take new steps. (283, 39-42)

35. My Word communicates itself in many ways: through the conscience, through trials that speak of Me, through the forces of nature, or through My spiritual children. My Word is universal. Everyone who prepares themselves will hear My voice. (264, 48)

The Necessity of Divine Revelations

36. My divine instruction is not intended only for the spirit—no, it must also reach the human heart so that both the spiritual and physical aspects of the being may become harmonious.

37. The divine Word is intended to enlighten the mind and make the human heart sensitive, and the life-essence contained in this Word is intended to nourish and uplift the soul.

38. For human life to be complete, one absolutely needs spiritual bread, just as one works and toils for material sustenance.

39. "Man does not live by bread alone," I told you in the "Second Era"; My Word remains valid, for never will people be able to do without spiritual nourishment without being afflicted on earth by disease, pain, darkness, misfortune, misery, and death.

40. Materialists might counter that people already live solely on what the earth and nature provide them, without needing to strive for anything spiritual that nourishes them and strengthens them during their life's journey. But I must tell you that this is not a complete and fulfilled life, but an existence lacking the essential, which is spirituality. (326, 58-62)

41. At all times I have revealed Myself to humanity in a simple way so that they might understand Me; I have always done so within the scope of your intellectual capacity and your heart. I have come down to you to give you an example of humility, as I stooped down to your humble life to lift you up to a better life. (226, 54)

42. Here is fulfilled the word I gave you when Jesus, in the "Second Era," thanked His Father for having hidden His wisdom from the learned and the wise, yet having given and revealed it to the humble.

43. Yes, My people, for those whom you call scholars puff themselves up and seek to keep the simple folk down by teaching them only what they consider to be the crumbs of the bread they have received from Me.

44. The poor, on the other hand—the "little people"—who know full well the hardships that life brings and the privations that go with them—when they are able to call something their own, they feel that it is far too much for them, and so they share it with others.

45. I will now add this: When the greedy become generous and the proud become humble, they will instantly partake of all that I have in store for those who know how to live virtuously. For My love is not partial; it is all-encompassing, intended for all My children. (250, 17)

The Boundlessness of Divine Revelations

46. This teaching, which is to illuminate the Third Age, is not My last. The spiritual has no end. My Law shines like a divine sun in every conscience. Stagnation and decline are characteristic only of human beings, and they are always the result of vices, weaknesses, or the unbridled indulgence of passions.

47. Once humanity bases its life on spiritual foundations and carries within itself the ideal of eternity that My teaching inspires in you, it will have found the path of progress and perfection, and it will never again stray from the path of its upward development. (112, 18)

48. If you think that I have only now revealed something of spiritual life to you, you are greatly mistaken; for I tell you once again: Divine instruction began when the first human was born, and I am not exaggerating when I tell you that My instruction began with the creation of spirits, even before the world came into being. (289, 18)

49. When people still believed that only what they could perceive with their eyes existed, and they themselves did not know the shape of the world they inhabited, they imagined a God who was limited to what their eyes knew.

50. But as their minds gradually unraveled one mystery after another, the universe expanded ever more before their eyes, and the greatness and omnipotence of God grew ever greater in the eyes of man's astonished intellect.

51. Therefore, I had to give you instruction during this time that is in harmony with your development.

52. Yet I ask you: Is it material knowledge that my revelation contains? No, the knowledge I teach you concerns an existence beyond the nature that you see and have been exploring for so long. My revelation shows the path that leads the spirit to a plane of existence from which it can discover, perceive, and understand everything.

53. Does it seem impossible to you, or at least strange, that God reveals Himself spiritually to humanity—that the Spiritual World makes itself known and manifests in your lives—that unknown worlds and spheres communicate with you? Do you perhaps want your understanding to remain stagnant, and for the Father never to reveal to you anything more than what He has already revealed?

54. Do not be bound by tradition, and do not set limits on your spirit's knowledge!

55. Today you may deny, oppose, and persecute the spiritual teaching; yet I know that tomorrow you will bow to the truth.

56. Every divine revelation has been fought against and rejected upon its appearance; yet in the end, that light has prevailed.

57. Humanity has likewise shown itself to be unbelieving in the face of scientific discoveries; yet in the end, it has had to bow to reality. (275, 64-70)

58. When the temple of the Holy Spirit rises from the heart of humanity into infinity, new revelations will appear in their midst, which will be all the greater the more the souls evolve upward. (242, 62)

59. How can you assume that—while I came down to you—I could neglect other nations, when you are all My children? Do you think that anyone is far from Me or outside of Me, even though My Spirit is universal and encompasses all creation?

60. Everything lives and is nourished by Me. That is why My Universal Ray has descended upon the entire globe, and the Spirit has received My influence in this and other worlds, for I have come to save all My children. (176, 21)

61. My revelation through the spokesmen is, according to My will, to be only temporary, a brief stage of preparation that is to serve this people as a norm, a law, and a foundation for bearing witness to and spreading this truth, and for proclaiming to the world the presence of the "Third Era."

62. Just as My manifestation through the human intellect was destined to be fleeting as a flash of lightning, so too was it intended that only certain groups of people would be called to be present at this revelation and to receive this message.

63. The dialogue from spirit to spirit, on the other hand, will reach the entire human race, without temporal limitation, for this way of seeking Me, receiving Me, praying to Me, hearing Me, and feeling Me— —is valid for all eternity. (284, 41–43)

The Manifestation of God's Presence in Man

64. I want to make you My disciples so that you may learn to perceive Me as children who belong to My Spirit. Why should you not feel My presence within you, since you are made of My very essence, a part of Me?

65. You do not feel Me because you are not aware of it, because you lack spirituality and preparation, and no matter how many signs and emotional impressions you receive, you attribute them to material causes. That is why I tell you that, although I am with you, you do not perceive My presence.

66. Now I say to you: Is it not natural that you should feel Me within your being, since you are a part of Me? Is it—in view of this—not right that your spirit should eventually merge with Mine? I reveal to you the true greatness that should be present in every human being; for you have gone astray, and in your desire to be great on earth, you have become spiritually smaller! (331, 25-26)

67. I no longer want you to say to Me: "Lord, why are You far from Me, why do You not hear Me, why do I feel alone on the path of life?"

68. Beloved people: I never distance Myself from My children; it is you who have distanced yourselves from Me because you have lacked faith, and you yourselves have rejected Me and closed the doors of your hearts to Me. (336, 60)

69. I do not want you to feel Me far away; for I have told you that through your spiritualization, you will all feel Me and perceive Me directly. Your spirit will hear My voice, and spiritually you will behold My presence. Thus I wish to see your spirit united with Mine for all eternity; for this is My will. (342, 57)
