The historical mission of Israel, its failure
1. Truly, I tell you, if people had adhered to the law to which their inner conscience called them, it would not have been necessary to send you leaders or prophets; nor would it have been necessary for your Lord to come down to you, nor for Me to carve My law into stone in the "First Age," nor for Me to become human and die on a cross as a human being in the "Second Age."
2. When I formed a people and showered them with gifts of grace, I did so not so that they might exalt themselves and humble others, but so that they might be an example of submission to the true God and a model of brotherhood among men.
3. I chose this people so that it might be an instrument of My will on earth and a bearer of My revelations, so that it might invite all to live by My law, and thus all of humanity might ultimately form a single people of the Lord.
4. This people has suffered greatly—even though it was the chosen one—because it believed that the inheritance was meant only for itself, that its God could not also be God for the Gentiles, because it regarded the other peoples as strangers and did not allow them to share in what the Father had entrusted to it. That is why I set it apart from the other peoples for a time, so that it would not be infected by corruption and materialism.
5. But when it isolated itself in its selfishness and believed itself to be great and strong, I proved to it that its power and greatness were deceptive, and I allowed other nations to invade it and lead it into bondage. Kings, pharaohs, and Caesars were its masters, even though I had offered to be their Lord.
6. The Father, in His infinite love, revealed Himself anew to His people to grant them freedom and remind them of their mission—and in this present age I come to impart to them My teachings of love; yet only My gaze can discern among humanity the children of Israel, whom I call and gather so that they may receive the light of the Holy Spirit.
7. I have revealed Myself to your spirit, for the time when I spoke to you through nature and by means of material manifestations that you called miracles has long since passed. Today you can already feel Me in your spirit, just as in the innermost part of your heart.
8. In this time, Palestine has not been a witness to My revelation; for it is not a specific place that I seek, but your spirit. I seek the "people of Israel according to the Spirit," not according to the blood—the people who possess the spiritual seed they have received through the ages by My mercy. (63, 64, 69)
The division of the Jewish people into those of an earthly and those of a spiritual disposition
9. It was necessary that the Father, after His departure (in Jesus), take the land from the hands of His people, a land that had already been entrusted to their ancestors.
10. It was taken from some as atonement and given to others as a reward; for that land of Canaan, that lovely Palestine of bygone days, was prepared by Me only as a reflection of the true Land of Promise for the spirit. When those possessions were taken from the people, the materialistically minded Jew was left behind on earth as a homeless person; but the other part—the faithful, who have always felt My presence—remained devoted to My will, without sorrow over having lost that legacy of bygone days, because they knew that a new grace of the Father had been entrusted to them: the legacy of His Word, the Divine Word, of His sacrifice, of His blood.
11. In the present age, in which my people Israel already live in the "Third Age," I still see them divided into two groups: one that has become materialistic, having grown rich through the goods of the earth as its self-appointed compensation, which even makes the foundations of the world tremble through its power, because it has placed its strength, its talent, the gifts of grace that the Father poured out upon its spirit, in the service of itself, of its ambition, of its greatness.
12. Behold how that very people, even within the confines of its materialism, has demonstrated strength in its sciences, in its will, in its intelligence. It harbors in the depths of its heart a grudge over past famines, enslavements, and humiliations; yet today it rises up strong and proud to humiliate other peoples, to intimidate them with its power, to dominate them. Today it is itself the sated one and looks with satisfaction upon the millions of the hungry and upon the great masses of slaves—slaves to its gold, its power, its science, and its thirst for recognition.
13. Yet I also see the other part of My people, the steadfast and faithful—those who have always been able to feel My presence, those who have always recognized My coming among humanity, those who have believed in My revelations, and who, despite everything, have been obedient to Me and have fulfilled My commands.
14. That other part is not only you who have been witnesses to My message through the intellectual faculties of man in this time; for a part of the Spiritual People of Israel is scattered across the entire globe, and wherever each one may be, he receives My caring love, feels My presence, feeds on My bread, and awaits Me, without knowing from whence I would come, nor in what manner, but he awaits Me.
15. Yet those who know very well how I have come, how I have revealed Myself—those who are prepared for the times to come—are you, who constitute a portion of the 144,000 chosen by Me from the twelve tribes of that people — one hundred and forty-four thousand who, before the numerous people of Israel, will be like 144,000 captains leading them into the Great Battle in the spiritual struggle of the "Third Age."
16. Do you think that My people will always be divided? Truly, I tell you: No! For you have come the instruction, the light, and the trials; for them have come My justice and likewise afflictions. I am now leading them with great strides toward the awakening of their spirit, and although they will certainly deny My third coming into the world at first, just as they denied the second, I tell you: The time of their conversion is now not far off. They live by their old traditions, yet I see through the spirit and heart of the Jewish people and let you know that they cling to their traditions more out of convenience and fear of spiritual revelations than out of their own conviction. They shy away from the manifestations of the hereafter; yet what I will propose to them is: the renunciation of all that is unnecessary, the practice of mercy, love, and humility.
17. You will have to face them, and both of you will take up your weapons: one side with words, thoughts, prayer, and evidence; the other with their talent, their power, and their tradition. Yet I will be present in this conflict and will ensure that my justice truly prevails; I will see to it that spirituality triumphs, that the spirit rises above the flesh, subdues it, and humbles it, and then the reconciliation of the tribes of Israel will come, the unification of the Lord's people.
18. Once that people is prepared—truly, I tell you, then it will fulfill its mission until it has completed the great mission that God has entrusted to His chosen people from the beginning of time, which consists in being the firstborn and steward of the Lord's revelations, so that, as the eldest of the siblings, it may lead the rest, share His grace with them, and bring all to the right hand of the Father. (332, 17–21)
The Spiritual People of Israel
19. When I speak of My "People of Israel," of the "People of the Lord," I mean those who have brought a spiritual mission with them to Earth; those who made My Law known, who proclaimed Me, who were faithful to Me; those who proclaimed the existence of the living God, who propagated the seed of love, and who were able to recognize in the Son the presence and the Word of the Father. These are the ones who form the people of God; this is Israel, the strong, the faithful, the wise Israel. This is My legion of soldiers who are faithful to the Law and to the Truth.
20. Those who persecuted My prophets, who tore the hearts of My messengers—those who turned their backs on the true God to bow down before idols—those who denied Me, mocked Me, and demanded My blood and life, did not belong to the Chosen People, even though they called themselves Israelites by race; they did not belong to the people of the prophets, to the company of the enlightened, to the faithful soldiers. For "Israel" is a spiritual name that was misused to dominate a race.
21. You should also know that anyone who desires to belong to My people can achieve this through their love, their mercy, their zeal, and their obedience to the law.
22. My people do not possess specific lands or cities in the world; my people are not a race, but are represented in all races, among all people. This group of people here, who hear my Word and receive the new revelations, is only a part of my people. Another part is scattered across the earth, and yet another, the largest part, lives in the Spiritual World.
23. This is My people, who know Me and love Me, who obey Me and follow Me. (159, 55-59)
24. Today I say to you: Where is My people? Where are those who are wise in trials, courageous in battles, and steadfast in hardships? They are scattered throughout the world. Yet I will rouse them to set out with My voice and unite them spiritually, so that they may lead all nations. But I tell you that today it will be formed of people of all races who will understand the nature of the covenant I expect from all people.
25. This people shall be courageous and combative, yet it shall possess neither weapons of fratricide nor chariots of war, nor shall it raise songs of destruction. Its banner shall be peace, its sword truth, and its shield love.
26. No one will be able to discover where this people is: it is everywhere. Its enemies will try to destroy it, but they will not be able to, for nowhere will they find it physically united, because its unity, its order, and its harmony will be spiritual. (157, 48-50)
27. In this time, the Spirit of true Israel is at work everywhere. It is the souls who feel My presence, who await My coming, who trust in My justice.
28. When these words reach other places, many will mock them; but I tell you, it would be better for them not to make them the object of their mockery, for the hour will come when they will awaken from their deep sleep and realize that they, too, are children of the people of God.
29. These multitudes here who hear Me today may fall into error if they do not study My Word and if they do not free themselves from their earthly, material way of thinking. They may fare as did the Israelite people of ancient times, who heard the voice of the Lord, received the Law, and had prophets, which is why they eventually believed themselves to be the only people loved by God—a grave error from which the great afflictions, humiliation, exile, and captivity were to deliver them.
30. You must know that My love could not divide you by race or religious belief, and that when I speak of "My people," it is only because from the earliest times I have been preparing souls whom I send to Earth so that they may illuminate the path of humanity with their light.
31. They have been the eternal wanderers who have lived among various nations and have gone through many trials. During this time, they have observed that human laws are unjust, that human expressions of emotion are insincere, and that restlessness reigns in the souls of men. (103, 10–14)
32. The people of God will appear once more among humanity—not a people personified in a single race, but a great multitude, a legion of My disciples, for whom blood, race, or language is not decisive, but rather the spirit.
33. This people will not limit themselves to teaching My doctrine through writings. For the words to have life, one must live them. This people will not only be disseminators of writings and books, but also of examples and deeds.
34. Today I free you from all that is unnecessary, from the impure and the erroneous, to introduce you to a simple and pure life through which your soul may soar, of which it bears witness through its works.
35. When the time has come, I will present My people to humanity, and neither will the Master be ashamed of His disciples, nor will the disciples deny their Master. This moment will coincide with the war of worldviews, from which Spiritualism will emerge like a breath of peace, like a ray of light. (292, 28–31)
36. My people are growing, multiplying, not only on earth but also in the Spiritual World. Among those spiritual multitudes are those who were bound to you by blood ties, whether they were your parents, siblings, or children.
37. Do not be surprised when I tell you that My people are so numerous that the earth would not have enough room for them, and that they will be even greater still. When I have united them and not one of My children is missing, infinity will be given to them as a dwelling place, that sphere of light and grace that has no end.
38. Here on earth, I am merely preparing you; I am giving you the necessary guidance through My teachings so that you may know how to draw nearer to that life. This humanity is but a part of the people of God. It is necessary that all know these revelations so that they may direct their lives toward the ideal of perfection.
39. This divine message, which is My Word spoken through the lips of the human messenger, is to reach all people according to My will. My Word is the bell that calls the world; its essence will stir the peoples and awaken them to reflect on spiritualization and on the soul's destiny after this life. (100, 35–37)
The 144,000 Chosen and Marked
40. To spread My work in this "Third Era," I have chosen 144,000 souls from among the great multitudes and marked them with a kiss of Divine Light—not a kiss of Judas, nor with the seal of a covenant that endangers your soul. My mark is the sign that the Holy Spirit places upon His chosen ones so that they may fulfill a great mission in this "Third Era."
41. Whoever bears this sign is not free from danger—on the contrary, they are tempted and tested more than the others. Remember each of the twelve I chose in the "Second Era," and you will confirm what I am telling you now. Among them there were moments of doubt, weakness, and confusion, and there was even one who betrayed Me by handing Me over to My executioners with a kiss.
42. How could the chosen ones of this time not have to watch and pray so as not to succumb to temptation! Yet truly, I tell you, there will still be traitors among the one hundred and forty-four thousand.
43. The sign signifies a mission, a commission, and a responsibility before God. It is no guarantee against temptations or illnesses; for if it were so—what merits would My chosen ones then have? What effort would your spirit make to remain faithful to My Word?
44. I speak to you in this way because there are many hearts among this people here who wish to belong to that number of the chosen ones. But I have seen that more than the desire to serve humanity through the gifts I grant with the sign, the desire to feel secure is decisive, or it is vanity that moves them to ask Me to call them. I will put these, My child-disciples, to the test, and they will then convince themselves that My Word is not unfounded.
45. The mark is the invisible sign through which the one who bears it with love, respect, zeal, and humility can fulfill his mission. Then he will be able to realize that the sign is a divine grace that enables him to rise above pain, that enlightens him in great trials, that reveals profound insights to him, and that opens a path for him wherever he wishes, along which the soul continues to advance.
46. The sign is like a link in a chain that connects the one who possesses it to the Spiritual World; it is the means by which the thought and the word of the Spiritual World manifest in your world, which is why I tell you that one who is marked is a messenger of Mine, that he is My emissary and My instrument.
47. Great is the task and the responsibility of the marked one toward My work. But he is not alone on his path; at his side is always the guardian angel who protects him, guides him, inspires him, and encourages him.
48. How strong was he who knew how to cling to his cross with love, and how hard and bitter has been the path for that Chosen One who was not willing to bear the divine sign of the Chosen One in the "Third Era."
49. I tell all who hear Me that they must learn to watch and pray, to bear their cross with love, and to act righteously and obediently, so that this life—which for your soul represents its most luminous reincarnation—may not become fruitless, and so that later it may not have to mourn the lost time and the unused abilities.
50. Let all of you reflect on this teaching, whether marked or not, for you all have a destiny to fulfill in My work. (306, 3-4, 7-12)
51. The "tribes of Israel according to the Spirit" are very numerous. From each of them I will choose twelve thousand and mark them on their foreheads. Yet the "people of Israel" is not limited to 144,000. The chosen people are immeasurably great.
52. The Master taught you in the "Second Era" that many are called but few are chosen; yet the entire "People of Israel" are called, and I will mark 144,000 among them. In all of them I will place peace, spirituality, and the beginning of spirit-to-spirit communication. (312, 7-8)
53. I am the Universal Father; My love descends upon all hearts. I have come to all the peoples of the earth. Yet if I have chosen this Mexican nation so that My Word and My revelations might pour out upon it in all their fullness, it is because I found them humble, because I discovered virtues in their inhabitants, and because I allowed the souls of the "people of Israel" to incarnate within them.
54. Yet not all belong to this nationality; not all are incarnated. The souls who belong to the number of the chosen are still scattered throughout the world. They have been marked; I have opened their eyes, made their hearts sensitive, and from spirit to spirit they speak with Me. (341, 25)
55. Among humanity lives a portion of the 144,000 whom I have marked. These servants of Mine are scattered throughout the world and fulfill their task of praying for peace and working toward the brotherhood of mankind. They do not know one another; yet they fulfill their destiny to illuminate the path of their fellow human beings—some intuitively, others enlightened by this revelation.
56. Some of those marked by my love are simple people; yet there are also those who are held in high esteem in the world. One can recognize them only by the spirituality in their lives, by their works, by their way of thinking, and by their understanding of divine revelations. They are neither idolatrous, nor pious in a hypocritical way, nor frivolous. It appears as though they do not practice any religion, and yet there is an inner worship between their spirit and that of their Lord.
57. Those marked by the light of the Holy Spirit are like lifeboats; they are guardians, advisors, and bulwarks. I have endowed them with light in their souls, with peace, with strength, with healing balm, with keys that secretly open even the most resistant doors, with "weapons" to overcome obstacles that are insurmountable for others. It is not necessary for them to hold worldly titles for their abilities to be recognized. They know nothing of the sciences and yet are "doctors"; they know nothing of the laws and yet are counselors; they are poor in earthly goods and yet can do much good along their life's path.
58. Among these multitudes of people here who have come to receive My Word, many have come only to confirm their mission. For it was not on earth that they were granted spiritual gifts or that their mission was entrusted to them. Truly, I tell you, the light that every soul possesses is the one it has earned on its long path of development. (111, 18-21)
59. Humanity will come to believe; My work will spread across the globe. I will begin with the 144,000 Marked Ones, who, in the time of conflicts over faith and worldviews, will fight with obedience, love, and devotion. In the midst of this battle, they will be like a link in a chain, offering the world not a chain of bondage, but a spiritual covenant marked by freedom and brotherhood. These soldiers will not be alone; my Spiritual World will accompany and protect them. They will perform miracles along their path and thus bear witness to my truth. (137, 9)
