fr-Chapter 45 - Predestination, Meaning and Fulfillment in Life

God's Providence and Destiny in Human Fate
1. Now is the time of light, in which man, besides believing, will understand, justify, and feel My truth.
2. The purpose of my teaching is to convince everyone that no one came into this world without a valid reason, that this reason is divine love, and that the destiny of all people is to fulfill a mission of love.
3. At all times, from the very beginning, people have asked themselves: "Who am I? To whom do I owe my life? Why do I exist? Why have I come here, and where am I going?"
4. For some of their uncertainties and their lack of understanding, they have found the answer in My explanations and through their reflections on what I have revealed to you over time.
5. But some already believe they know everything; yet I tell you, they are caught in a great error, because what is preserved in the Book of God's Wisdom cannot possibly be discovered by people as long as it is not revealed to them; and there is much contained in this Book of Divine Wisdom—its content is infinite. (261, 4–6)
6. Destiny possesses the mercy that God has placed within it. The destiny of humankind is full of divine goodness.
7. You often fail to find this goodness because you do not know how to seek it.
8. If, within the destiny I have mapped out for every soul, you forge a hard and bitter path for yourselves, I seek to soften it, but never to increase its bitterness.
9. People need one another in the world; no one is too many, and no one is too few. All lives are necessary for the completion and harmony of their existence for one another.
10. The poor need the rich, and the rich need the poor. The wicked need the good, and the good need the wicked. The ignorant need the knowledgeable, and the knowledgeable need the ignorant. The young need the elderly, and the elderly, in turn, need the children.
11. Each and every one of you has been placed in this world by the wisdom of God in your rightful place and close to those with whom you are meant to be. Every person is assigned the circle in which they are to live and in which there are incarnate and disembodied souls with whom they are to coexist.
12. Thus, each on their own path, you will gradually meet all those whose task is to teach you the love that lifts you up; from others you will suffer pain that purifies you. Some will bring you suffering because you need it, while others will give you their love to balance your bitterness; yet all have a message for you, a lesson you must understand and make use of.
13. Do not forget that every incarnated and disembodied soul that crosses your path in any form helps you on your journey through life.
14. How many souls of light have I sent into the world for you, and yet you did not pause to bless my love for you!
15. You paid no attention to many souls I sent to you, without realizing that they were part of your destiny; yet because you did not know how to accept them, you were left empty-handed and later had to shed tears of regret.
16. Humanity, your destiny is to be in harmony with all creation. This harmony of which I speak to you is the greatest of all laws, for in it you find perfect communion with God and His works. (11, 10–16, 22–25)
17. Whoever denies his destiny rejects the honorable title "Child of My Divinity." If he does not believe in My existence, he cannot have faith in My love.
18. If, for some, this life has been exceedingly bitter and painful, know that this existence is not the only one, that it only seems long, and that there is a mystery in the destiny of every creature that only I can penetrate. (54, 8-9)
19. A person's existence on earth is but a moment in eternity, a breath of life that animates a person for a time and immediately departs, only to return later and breathe life into a new body. (12, 4)
20. It is predestined for each person what is to be granted to them during their life's journey. While some accept and make use of it at the right time, others squander it, and some have not even known how to prepare themselves to receive it. Yet when they returned to the Spiritual World, they became aware of all that was destined for them and which they neither knew how to attain nor how to earn. (57, 31)
21. No one was born by chance; no one was created at random. Understand Me, and you will realize that no one is free on their life's journey, that there is a law which guides and governs all destinies. (110, 29)
22. Man believes he acts according to his own will; he believes he is free from any higher influence upon him, and ultimately considers himself independent and the architect of his own destiny, without suspecting that the hour will come when all will realize that it was My will that was fulfilled in them. (79, 40)
23. Earn a good reward by cultivating good fruit for your fellow human beings. Prepare yourselves for the times to come, for before My departure there will still be strife among you, because temptation will come upon all of you. You must be vigilant. Pray and put My teachings into practice. Truly, I tell you, these brief moments you devote to doing good will make their beneficial effects felt even in many of the generations to come after you. No one was able or will ever be able to determine their own destiny; this belongs to Me alone. Trust in My will, and you will traverse the path of life to the end without major difficulties.
24. Understand correctly when I tell you that no leaf on the tree moves without My will; then you will know when it is I who am testing you, and when you are emptying your cup of suffering—only to blame Me afterward. Then you become judges and make Me the accused.
25. Recognize your errors and correct them. Learn to forgive the faults of your fellow human beings, and if you cannot correct them, at least cast a veil of forbearance over them. (64, 43-44)
26. Do not be fatalists who reinforce the conviction that your destiny corresponds exactly to what God has placed on your life's path, and that when you suffer, it is because it was written, and when you rejoice, the reason is that it was likewise written. I have convinced you that you will reap what you have sown.
27. But listen well now: On some occasions you will receive the harvest immediately, and on other occasions you will have to enter a new existence to reap and harvest your seed. Think carefully about what I have just told you, and you will dispel many misjudgments regarding My justice and many ambiguities. (195, 53)
In the School of Life
28. People are like children who do not reflect on the consequences of their actions, and therefore they do not realize that a stumbling block they encounter on their path is merely an obstacle placed by the Master to halt their reckless course or to spare them from making a poor decision.
29. I want you to behave like adults from now on, to consider your works and your deeds, to weigh your words. This is the way to bring wisdom and justice into your lives. Furthermore, you should reflect on the fact that life is an immeasurable and constant test for the soul.
30. No one perishes on My path, and although there are occasions when a person, overcome by the burden of the cross, collapses, a higher power raises him up again and encourages him. This power springs from faith. (167, 55–57)
31. Your happiness depends on the understanding that people gain from these teachings and through obedience to the laws that govern the universe—a happiness that some believe does not exist on earth, and that others believe I alone possess in abundance, yet which is very much revealed in the peace of your soul.
32. Now you know, O beloved people, that your bliss lies within yourselves, so that you may teach people that at the core of their being—where, in their opinion, there is only bitterness, hatred, and resentment, remorse, and tears—there exists a light that nothing can extinguish, which is that of the Spirit. (178, 6-7)
33. Your spiritual past is unknown to your "flesh." I leave it imprinted in your soul so that it may be like an open book and be revealed to you through the Spirit and your intuitive faculty. This is My justice, which—instead of condemning you—gives you the opportunity to make amends for a transgression or to correct an error.
34. If the past were erased from your soul, you would have to go through the trials you have already faced all over again; but if you listen to the voice of your experience and allow yourselves to be enlightened by this light, you will see your path more clearly and behold the horizon more brightly. (84, 46)
The Meaning and Value of Human Life
35. Know that the natural state of man is one of goodness, spiritual peace, and harmony with all that surrounds him. Whoever remains steadfast in the practice of these virtues throughout life walks the true path that will lead him to the knowledge of God.
36. But if you stray from this path and forget the law that is meant to guide your actions, you will have to make amends, with tears, for the moments you have lived far from the path of spiritual elation, which is the natural state in which man is always meant to remain. (20, 20)
37. Many people have become so accustomed to the world of sin and suffering in which you live that they think this life is the most natural, that the earth is destined to be a valley of tears, and that it will never be able to harbor peace, harmony, and spiritual progress.
38. Those who think this way are caught in the slumber of ignorance. It is a mistake to believe that I destined this world to be a valley of tears and atonement. The Eden I offered to humanity can and shall return, for all that I have created is life and love.
39. Therefore, those who claim that the world was destined by God to be a place of human suffering are mistaken. Instead, they should say that they themselves condemned it to a mission of judgment, whereas it was actually created for the joy and refreshment of souls made human.
40. No one was predestined to sin, although everything was foreseen in order to save humanity from its downfalls.
41. Man did not wish to evolve upward through love, nor did he wish to become wise by fulfilling My law; and he forgot that My justice, which he always tried to evade, protects him, because My justice springs from perfect love. (169, 10-13)
42. If you ponder My Word, you will understand that the Father's intention, when He sent you into the world to traverse its paths full of dangers and temptations, was not that you should lose your way on them. For they were designed in advance so that on them you would receive the necessary lessons for the development of the soul, to give you the experience you lacked, and finally, to allow you to return to Me full of light.
43. When your spirit emerged from Me, it was like a spark that the winds had to transform into a flame, so that upon your return to Me, your light might become one with that of the Divinity.
44. I speak to you from the summit of the New Mountain. There I await you, and truly, I tell you: On the day of your arrival, there will be a feast in this Kingdom.
45. You come there by the path of pain, thereby atoning for your transgressions—a path not laid out by Me, but created by man. You also made Me walk this path. Yet since then, the path of sacrifice and pain has been glorified by My blood. (180, 64–65)
46. Man will finally understand that his kingdom, too, is not of this world, that his body or his human shell is merely the instrument through whose senses his spirit perceives this world of trials and atonement. He will finally learn that this life is but a magnificent lesson, illustrated with wondrous figures and images, so that the students, that is, all people, may better understand the lessons that life gives them, through which, if they are able to evaluate them correctly, they will achieve the development of their soul and comprehend the meaning of the struggle that makes them strong—the pain that hones them, the hardship that ennobles them, the knowledge that enlightens them, and the love that uplifts them.
47. If this existence were the only one—truly, I tell you, I would have long ago removed the pain from it, for it would be unjust if you had come into this world solely to drink from a cup of suffering. Yet those who suffer and weep today do so because they once indulged in excess. But this pain will purify them and make them worthy to ascend and enjoy in a purer form in the abodes of the Lord. (194, 34–35)
48. The trials that human life entails are so severe that it is necessary to sweeten them with all those spiritual and physical joys that make the burden of one's cross more bearable and easier to carry.
49. I bless all those who find the greatest joys of their existence in the warmth of their homes and who strive to turn their parental love for their children, the children's love for their parents, and the love among siblings into a service to God. For that unity, that harmony, and that peace resemble the harmony that exists between the Universal Father and His spiritual family.
50. In these homes the light of the soul shines, the peace of my kingdom dwells, and when suffering comes, it is easier to bear, and the moments of trial are less bitter.
51. Even more meritorious are those who seek satisfaction in bringing it to others and who rejoice in the wholesome joy of their neighbors. These are apostles of joy, and they fulfill a great mission.
52. Truly, I tell you, if you knew how to seek moments of satisfaction and joy, as well as to observe hours of inner peace, you would have such moments every day of your earthly existence. But for this, you must first elevate your soul , making your feelings and your way of thinking about life more generous.
53. This message, which I send to you through My Word, is filled with light that will illuminate your path and give your being the upward development that will teach you to live in peace and to enjoy in a healthy way all that with which I have blessed your existence.
54. Humanity must still struggle greatly to combat the shadows of pain and overcome its inclination toward false pleasures and deceptive satisfactions. It will have to fight against its religious fanaticism, which prevents it from recognizing the truth; it will have to fight against fatalism, which leads it to believe that everything is heading toward final destruction from which no one can be saved, and it will have to fight against its materialism, which leads it to seek only fleeting pleasures—sensual delights that plunge the soul into an abyss of vice, pain, despair, and darkness.
55. I give you my light so that you may leave the shadows behind and, on this planet that you have turned into a valley of tears, finally discover the true delights of the soul and the heart, beside which all other joys are small and insignificant. (303, 28-33)
