Spiritual Battles Before the Kingdom of Peace of Christ on Earth

1. Just as I announced My return to you in the "Second Era," so now I announce to you the "war" of creeds, worldviews, and religions as a forerunner of the establishment of My Kingdom of Spiritualization among mankind.

2. My Word will, like a flaming sword, destroy the fanaticism that has enveloped people for centuries, will tear away the veil of their ignorance, and will show the bright, radiant path that leads to Me. (209, 10-11)

3. In order for the peace of My Kingdom to be established among humanity, the "war" of religious doctrines, religions, and ideologies must first be waged—a conflict in which some oppose My Name and My Truth to the false idols of others, and in which one doctrine battles another.

4. This will be the new struggle, the spiritual battle in which the false gods, knocked from their pedestals, will fall, and every lie you have held to be true will be exposed forever. Then you will witness how, from that chaos of confusion and darkness, the truth rises resplendently. (121, 40)

5. Spiritualism is giving rise to a worldwide battle among worldviews, creeds, and religious cults. But after this conflict, this teaching will bring people the blessed peace they so desperately need, and will cause the sun of My divine justice to shine upon all souls. (141, 11)

6. I am preparing you and warning you regarding the time of confusion among worldviews, so that you may free yourselves from the inner struggle of the soul and the torment of thoughts.

7. For all the worldviews, doctrines, theologies, philosophies, and creeds of humanity will be shaken, symbolizing a storm—a true tempest of the spirit—on whose turbulent waves you are to sail and remain afloat, according to My will, until the storm and the darkness have passed.

8. I give you no better recipe for weathering this trial unscathed than prayer and obedience to My Word, through which your faith will be continually strengthened.

9. That clash of worldviews, that collision of creeds and ideologies, that battle is absolutely necessary so that all the flaws and errors that have accumulated at the root of every cult and every institution may come to the surface.

10. Only after this "storm" will a moral and spiritual purification of humanity be able to begin; for they will see the truth come to light, will recognize it, feel it within themselves, and will no longer be able to feed on illusions and deceptions.

11. Just as every person voluntarily and entirely for themselves makes use of the life-sustaining effect of the sun on their body, because they recognize that material life is founded on its light, its warmth, and its influence, so will they make use of the light of truth for all that they need for the preservation, strengthening, and enlightenment of their soul.

12. Then a power never before felt by humankind will become effective, because their lives will increasingly conform to the true principles of life, the norms established by My Law. (323, 19–22)

The Struggle for Spiritual Supremacy on Earth

13. In this age there is a struggle between worldviews and religious doctrines. Every person wants to be in the right. But who is right in this struggle of egos and self-interest? Who is the possessor of the truth?

14. If those who believe themselves to be on the perfect path and to possess the truth are proud of this—truly, I tell you, they do not yet know the path; for on it one must be humble, and it is enough that they do not un ly acknowledge the truth contained in the faith of others to cease being humble. Yet I already told you in the "Second Time": "Blessed are the meek and humble of heart."

15. The person who condemns the faith and convictions of his fellow human beings distances himself from salvation, for in his pride and rashness he attempts to be like his God. (199, 4-6)

16. You ask Me what I seek to achieve by revealing Myself spiritually to the humanity of this age. To this I answer you: What I seek is your awakening to the light, your spiritualization, and your unification, since you have been divided throughout the ages. For while some have sought the treasures of the Spirit, others have devoted themselves to the love of worldly riches—spiritualism and materialism in constant conflict; spiritualists and materialists who could never understand one another.

17. Remember: When Israel, in anticipation of the Messiah, had Him before its eyes, it split into believers and deniers of My truth. The explanation for this is simple: Believers were those who awaited Me with the spirit, and those who awaited Me with the senses of the "flesh" denied Me.

18. These two forces will have to confront one another once more until the truth comes to light from this struggle. The battle will be fierce; for the more time passes, the more people love the earthly, since their science and their discoveries give them the feeling of living in a realm of their own, in a world they have created. (175, 4-6)

19. Today, every person believes they know the truth completely. Every religion claims to possess the truth. Scientists declare that they have found the truth. I tell you that no one knows the absolute truth, for man has not even been able to grasp with his mind the part that has been revealed to him.

20. All people carry within themselves a portion of truth and error, which they mix with the light of truth.

21. The battle is drawing near in which all these forces will fight one another, since each seeks to impose its own worldview. Yet in the end, it will not be the victory of a human ideology, nor of a scientific theory, nor of a religious creed that prevails, but rather the harmonious union of all good ways of thinking, all noble religious convictions, all forms of worship elevated to the highest spirituality, and all sciences dedicated to the service of true human progress.

22. I will allow people to speak of their ideas and present them, to let others publicly perform their forms of worship and rites, to let them discuss and fight one another, to let scientists disseminate their most progressive theories, to let everything that exists hidden within every mind break forth, come to light, and make itself known. For near is the Day of the Reaper—that day when conscience, like an inexorable sickle, cuts off at the root all that is false in the human heart. (322, 15–18)

The Opposition to the Spiritual Teaching

23. The clergy of this age dress regally to symbolically officiate at the sacrifice of Jesus, and although they claim My name and My representation in doing so, I discover that their minds are confused, their hearts are agitated by the storms of intrigue and passions. There is not one who proclaims as a prophet that I am among the people of this age. They will experience great suffering, for there is no spiritual preparation among them. Where is the fulfillment of those who vowed before Jesus to follow in His footsteps? Where are the successors of My apostles? Is there anyone like John, who was among the first, or Paul, who was among the latter?

24. Therefore, the Master is drawing near to you once more to resume His teaching. Already I see the new Pharisees and scribes rushing toward Me, filled with hatred. At that very moment I will ask: "Where are My disciples?" Yet when the proud, the false, the rich—those who fear losing their power, those threatened by My truth—mock and persecute Me anew, fierce storms will break out. But it will not be I who collapse under the weight of the cross, but those who demanded the sacrifice of Him who gave them life. (149, 32-33)

25. The tide of materialism will rise and become a turbulent sea, a sea of suffering, despair, and fear of human injustice.

26. Only one boat will sail across that sea of passions, desires, and hatred of mankind, and that boat will be that of My Law. Blessed are those who are strong when that time comes!

27. But woe to those who sleep! Woe to the weak! Woe to the peoples who have placed their trust in the foundations of religious fanaticism, for they will easily fall prey to those raging waves!

28. Do you not sense the battle, O humanity? Do my words not move you to prepare yourselves to defend yourselves when the hour comes?

29. My light is within all, yet only those who pray and prepare themselves see it. My light speaks to you through foreboding, through inspiration, through intuition, through dreams, and through signs. Yet you are deaf to every spiritual call, indifferent to every divine sign.

30. Soon you will see My word fulfilled and bear witness that all this was true.

31. My teaching and my name will be the target of all attacks and persecutions; they will be the reason why the enemies of truth persecute you. Yet my teaching will also be the sword of light for those who rise up and defend the faith, and it will be the shield behind which the innocent find protection. My name will be on everyone's lips, blessed by some, cursed by others.

32. All of man's faculties will be unleashed: his intelligence, his emotions, his passions; his mental faculties will be alert and ready to fight.

33. What confusion there will be then! How many who thought they believed in Me will have to realize that it was not true faith!

34. In many homes and hearts, the light of love and hope will have gone out. Children and young people will have no other god but the world, nor any other law but that of the earth. (300, 35–40)

35. What will happen when people realize that their excessive love for the world and their worship of earthly things have led them to a sorrowful failure? They will try to find the lost path again, to track down those principles and laws from which they had turned away, and in this endeavor they will create doctrines, they will establish rules, and philosophies, worldviews, and theories will arise.

36. All of this will mark the beginning of a new and great battle—no longer driven by an unjust pursuit of earthly power. No murderous weapons will destroy lives, shatter homes, or shed human blood. The battle will be different, for then the great religious communities will fight against the new teachings and the new religions.

37. Who will prevail in this battle? No religion will emerge victorious from this conflict, just as in this murderous war you are enduring today, no nation will remain victorious.*

*Although there were so-called victorious powers in the Second World War referred to here, the struggle for earthly supremacy continued after the war's end and continues to this day. In this struggle, however, no world power will ultimately remain victorious.

38. My justice will prevail over the war for earthly supremacy, and later, in that battle to impose any doctrine or religion, my truth will triumph.

39. The one and highest truth will shine forth like the light of a flash of lightning on a stormy night, and everyone will see this divine flash of light wherever they are.

40. My message will reach everyone, and you will all come to Me. I have prepared everything for the times to come, and My will shall be fulfilled in all, for I am the Lord of souls, of the worlds, of the races, and of the peoples. (288, 33–36, 45)

The Ignoring or Opposing of Spiritual Revelations and Spiritual Healings

41. The Spiritual World will draw even closer to humanity to bear witness to its existence and presence. Signs, proofs, revelations, and messages will appear everywhere, persistently proclaiming that a new age has dawned.

42. There will be strife; there will be turmoil among the peoples, for religious leaders will spread fear among those who believe in those messages, and science will declare those facts to be untrue.

43. Thereupon, the common people will take courage and rise up to bear witness to the truth of the evidence they have received. Those who—having been abandoned by science—regained their health through spiritual means will stand up, and they will testify to miraculous healings, to revelations of infinite power and absolute wisdom.

44. Among the simple and unknown people, men and women will step into the public eye, whose words, full of light, will surprise the theologians, philosophers, and scientists. But when the conflict is at its height and the poor are humiliated and their testimonies are denied by the proud, then the moment will have come when Elijah calls the scholars, the lords, and the rulers to account and subjects them to trial.

45. Woe to the false and the hypocrites in that hour, for perfect justice will then descend upon them!

46. It will be the hour of judgment. But many souls will rise from it to true life, many hearts will be resurrected to faith, and many eyes will open to the light. (350, 71-72)
