fr-Chapter 60 - Working in the Spirit of Christ

13/03/2024

Necessary Qualities, Virtues, and Abilities of the New Disciples

1. How difficult it seems to you to forge a path to fulfill your mission in this time. Yet I tell you that it is not difficult, for humanity is prepared to receive My message.

2. In every age, the weak have despaired in the face of the struggle, while the strong have shown that faith in My Law overcomes all things. Your destiny, Israel, has been to proclaim ever-new messages and revelations to the world, which is why you sometimes doubt whether you will find faith.

3. But do not be anxious; take the seed I have entrusted to you and sow it. You will see how many of the fields you thought were barren will become fertile when they are made fruitful by the truth of My Word.

4. Do not fail to fulfill your duty because you feel unworthy. Truly, I tell you, whoever has a mission and fails to fulfill it acts just as wickedly as one who knowingly violates the law.

5. Do not forget that in the end the Father will hold you accountable—both for the evil you have done and for what you have failed to do. Know that both of these failings will cause suffering to your soul.

6. Spread My teaching, speak to people of My Word, convince them through your works of love, invite them to hear Me, and when they come with the multitudes and the light of faith is kindled in their hearts, I will call them children of the New People of Israel. (66, 14-17)

7. Those who rise from the mire, the filth, and selfishness to a life of service and active charity toward their fellow human beings, I will hold up as an example that light and grace dwell within My teaching to renew sinners. This example will spread to all hearts.

8. Who does not wish to be among those who bear witness to Me? Yet truly, I tell you, if your actions do not truly come from the heart, they will bear no fruit among your fellow human beings, and you will often hear them call you hypocrites and false preachers. And I do not want this to happen to you.

9. You must know that in this day and age it is very difficult to deceive people. Their minds are alert, and even though they have lost their way in the materialism of their existence, they are sensitive to every spiritual manifestation. But if you cannot deceive your fellow human beings—can you then deceive your Father?

10. Let the Master's love take up residence within you, so that you may forgive your enemies as He forgives you. Then your heart will be like a lifeline among people. (65, 44–46)

11. Do not fear people; for truly, I tell you: I will speak through your mouth, bear witness to My Word through you, and its echo will reach to the ends of the earth, to the great, to the small, to the rulers, to the scientists, and to the theologians. (7, 37)

12. I tell you again that you must not shy away from confrontation. So tell your fellow human beings with the greatest naturalness that the Lord has come to you.

13. Tell them that the one who died on the cross was Jesus—the body in which Christ was hidden, the living temple in which the "Word of God" dwelt; but that Christ, Divine Love, lives and comes to His children in the Spirit to teach them the way that will lead them into His Spiritual Kingdom. (88, 62-63)

14. Do not fear the judgments and mockery of the sects and denominations. It is they who, although they hold the books of prophecy in their hands, have not interpreted them correctly and therefore did not know how to expect Me. You, on the other hand, who did not know the prophecies that spoke of My return as the Holy Spirit, have awaited Me. Now the "Third Era" is here, yet humanity has not understood how to interpret the Gospel correctly. (33, 26)

15. How will you be able to lead humanity to attain spirituality in an era of such great materialism and spiritual confusion?

16. Be aware that your work is difficult, that you must be strong and patient in the struggle to fulfill it.

17. You must strive hard to correct the misinterpretation that has been given to My Law, and also the imperfect manner in which you offer your worship to Me.

18. But you must bear in mind that you cannot change ideas and forms of worship in an instant; rather, to achieve this, you must arm yourselves with patience and good will and set an example of love through your deeds. (226, 60)

19. Only those who are pure of heart may set out to the lands and nations to spread My message, for they will be the only ones worthy to bear witness to the truth of this work.

20. When these messengers set out for the lands that await them, all religious fanaticism must already be erased from their hearts; not even the slightest desire for flattery or admiration may remain, nor shall their hand dare to defile itself with the money of the world for the work of love they perform.

21. They shall not sell miracles, nor set a price for love among themselves. They shall be servants, not masters.

22. The time will yet come when you will comprehend the greatness of true humility, and then you will realize that whoever knew how to be a servant was in reality free in his task of doing good and spreading mercy, and that faith, confidence, and peace accompanied him throughout his life. (278, 11-12)

23. I tell you that you will feel it when your soul is prepared to teach My doctrine to your fellow human beings. For this will be the case when you have found yourselves. You will then hear the voice of conscience very clearly. As long as this is not true for you, you will not be able to truly feel Me. (169, 36)

24. Listen attentively to these words so that you may later interpret them and sow them in the hearts of your fellow human beings. Do not be content merely to understand them: speak of them, set an example, and teach through your deeds. Be sensitive so that you may know when the right moment has come to speak, and when the appropriate time has arrived for your deeds to bear witness to My teaching.

25. I give you a single language to spread my word, and that language is spiritual love, which will be understood by all people.

26. It is a language soothing to the ears and hearts of people, which will tear down, stone by stone, the Tower of Babel they have built in their hearts. Then My judgment will end, for all will regard one another as brothers and sisters. (238, 27–28)

27. Only when you have been transformed inwardly will I send you out into the world to spread my message. For only when spirituality is genuine in the disciples will they know how to pass it on just as they have received it from Me. (336, 38)

28. Bear in mind that My teaching is not limited to your ideas and your capacity for understanding. My divine wisdom has no limits. No one can claim to have known or understood any of My revelations before I have revealed them to him.

29. While scientists try to explain everything with their material knowledge, I reveal to the humble the spiritual life—the true life—in which lies the cause, the reason, and the explanation for all that exists.

30. From the knowledge you impart, the conception will arise that people form of My work. Many, due to a lack of understanding, will judge My teaching based on your unassuming appearance, just as in the "Second Era" Jesus, the Christ, was judged by His modest appearance and simple garments, and because those Twelve who followed Him were also simply dressed. Yet I tell you in truth that they were not clad in rags, and that they had merely spurned earthly vanities because, through my instruction, they had come to understand what the true values of the soul consist of.

31. I tell you, disciples: When people set out to study My work and they seek you out and ask you questions, do not fall into the temptation of considering yourselves superior because of the knowledge you have received from Me. The more humble you show yourselves to be, the more noble and trustworthy they will consider you.

32. In this way, the light that dissolves fanaticism and liberates the soul will gradually spread from person to person. And those who called themselves Christians without being so will come to know and interpret the true teachings of Christ through this light. For it will give them an uplifting conception of the spiritual life of which Jesus spoke in His teachings. (226, 17–21)

33. You cannot approach people with a false or merely feigned preparation; for their souls are developed, and the blindfold that covered their eyes has long since fallen.

34. Bring them spirituality, offer them peace, and create an atmosphere of well-being and brotherhood in your surroundings; then you will see how they listen to you and accept your words, in which my inspiration and my power will lie.

35. When you preach and teach peace, be peaceable yourselves; when you speak of love, feel it before you express it in words; when your fellow human beings likewise offer you their fruits, do not reject them. Examine everything you encounter, and adhere to what is permissible and correct in their teachings.

36. You will also encounter those who—having become fanatical in their religious practice—have diminished their capacity for understanding through the materialization of their ritual acts. You should then patiently help them to expand their knowledge, and show them the horizons their spirit can reach if they immerse themselves in my teachings.

37. You shall speak to them of My Universal Spirit, of the immortality of the soul, and of its continuous development. You shall teach them true prayer, the dialogue of the spirit, and free them from prejudices and errors. This is the work I entrust to you—a work of love and patience. (277, 6-7)

38. Heal all suffering, both of the body and of the soul, for it is your task to comfort, strengthen, and heal your neighbors. Yet I ask you: How could you bring health to those in need if you yourselves were sick ? What peace could flow from your soul if it were troubled by worries, suffering, pangs of conscience, and base passions?

39. You will be able to offer your fellow human beings only what you have gathered in your heart. (298, 1-2)

40. I bring you clear and simple instruction so that you may learn to live among sinners without being infected; to walk your path through thorns without being wounded; to witness atrocities and abominations without flying into a rage; to live in a world full of wretchedness without trying to flee from it, but rather to desire to remain in its midst in order to do all possible good for the needy and to sow the seeds of goodness in every way.

41. Since the earthly paradise has been transformed into a hell by the sin of mankind, it is necessary that they wash away their stains and thus restore their lives to their original purity. (307, 26-27)

42. I will not send forth as messengers those who are dead to the life of grace, for they would have nothing to give. I will not entrust this mission to those who have not purified their hearts of selfishness.

43. The messenger of My Word must be a disciple of Mine, whose very presence already makes My peace felt in hearts. He must have the ability to comfort his fellow human beings even in the most difficult moments of life, and a light must always radiate from his words that dispels all darkness of the soul or the mind. (323, 60-61)

The Proper Conduct in Spreading the Word

44. My new disciples will have many means and ways to spread this blessed seed; but never forget humility and simplicity, for that is how I came to you, and in the same way you must approach hearts, homes, and peoples. If you come in this way, you will be recognized as messengers of a spiritual message, and your struggle will bear the fruits of true spiritualization, renewal, and brotherhood. (82, 66)

45. If you wish to know what you are to do among men, it is enough to consider what I have done among you from the day you first heard My Word.

46. I forgave you, received you with infinite mercy and love, and allowed you to rest from your laborious daily work. I did not concern Myself with judging your social standing, your class, or your caste. I cleansed the leprosy of your sin and healed your infirmities.

47. I was understanding, forgiving, and benevolent in judging your shortcomings. I brought you back to true life by giving you a teaching of love that enables you to save yourselves by saving your neighbors.

48. In these works of Mine, which I have done for each of you, you can find the best example to apply among those suffering in body and soul, who will come to you in droves.

49. When I speak to this people here, I speak to humanity. Your task is to turn to the hearts of people tomorrow and to convey My Word to them in a brotherly manner, which will complete the work of redemption. (258, 21-24)

50. You must be humble. It must not bother you if you are insulted. Be meek. They will inflict humiliations and sufferings upon you. But they will not be able to banish your word—which will be My message—from their souls. Therefore, I tell you: While some remain insensitive and deaf to your call, others will awaken from their long slumber and set out to move forward, directing their lives toward the path of renewal and repentance.

51. Arm yourselves with courage, faith, and strength so that you may face the battle. Yet I warn you: Do not be intimidated when speaking to one of your fellow human beings because you see him well-dressed, or because he is addressed as a prince, lord, or minister.

52. Take Paul and Peter as your example, who raised their voices against those whom the world called lords. They were great in spirit, and yet they boasted to no one that they were lords; rather, they declared that they were servants. Follow their example and bear witness to My truth through the love of your works. (131, 60–62)

53. I also point out to you that he cannot call himself My disciple who uses My Word as a sword to wound his fellow men, or as a scepter to humiliate them. Nor can he who becomes agitated when speaking of this teaching and who loses his composure, for he will not sow the seed of faith.

54. A prepared disciple will be one who, when he sees his faith—the very core of his convictions—under attack, knows how to remain calm, for he will be like a lighthouse in the midst of a storm. (92, 9-10)

55. If you seek to admonish a sinner for the good, do not do so by threatening him with My judgment, with the forces of nature, or with pain should he not reform, for you would instill in him an aversion to My teaching. Show him the true God, who is all love, mercy, and forgiveness. (243, 36)

56. Do not feel hurt by the mockery of your fellow human beings, for you are aware that those who do so are unable to recognize the truth due to their ignorance. You will find compensation for this in those who come to you to examine you, and are then surprised by the inner peace that radiates from each of My true disciples.

57. You, on the other hand, must never mock those who, in their religious fanaticism, are idolaters. For even though they seek Me in material forms, they still worship Me within them.

58. You need not point out your fellow men's errors to ensure they are corrected. Rather, you would thereby arouse their anger and further intensify their fanaticism. It will suffice to put My teaching into practice with the spirituality it demands, in order to bring your fellow men's errors to the light of truth.

59. You will have to muster much patience, great mercy, and true love if you wish for humanity to soon learn to recognize the spiritual essence of My Word and to show it true reverence, as well as to recognize in every human being a spiritual and earthly brother in God. (312, 20–22)

60. I have shown you that the blindfold can be removed from the eyes of the ignorant or the deluded without harming them, without offending or hurting them. I want you to act in the same way. I have shown you through my own example that love, forgiveness, patience, and forbearance have more power than harshness, condemnation, or the use of force. (172, 63)

61. Once again I leave you the trail so that you may follow Me. When you set out in search of people to bring them the Good News, do not beg them to listen to you. Carry out your task with dignity, and those who believe you will be the ones I have chosen to make My disciples. (10, 50)

62. I have not given you My Word so that you may proclaim it in the streets and squares. Jesus did this, it is true; but He knew how to answer every question and to put to the test those who sought to test Him.

63. You are small and weak; therefore, you must not provoke the anger of your fellow human beings. Do not try to draw attention to yourselves—remember that you possess nothing special. Nor should you strive to prove to people that everyone else is in error and that only you know the truth; for in this way, you will achieve nothing good with your seed.

64. If you wish to develop spiritually and morally, do not judge the faults of your fellow human beings, lest you fall into the same error. Correct your own imperfections, pray humbly to your Master so that you may be inspired by His gentleness, and remember His counsel never to make your good deeds known , so that your left hand never knows what your right hand has done.

65. I also tell you that it is not necessary to seek out people to speak to them about My teaching; for My mercy will lead you to those in need of your help.

66. Yet if there are moments when, in fulfillment of My law, you feel the need to perform an act of charity, and you have no one in need near you, do not be distressed by this, and do not doubt My word. This will be precisely the hour when you should pray for your absent brothers, who will receive My mercy if you have true faith.

67. Do not strive to know more than your brothers. Understand that you all attain knowledge commensurate with your development. If I were to grant you My light without your having earned it, you would become conceited and perish in your vanity, and your wisdom would be false.

68. I wish to see you humble. Yet to be so before Me, you must also demonstrate it toward your neighbors.

69. Disciples, love and wisdom are never separate; one is part of the other. Why is it that some strive to separate these two virtues? Both are the key that opens the gate to the sanctuary, which will enable you to attain a full understanding of My teaching.

70. I have told you: Do you wish to have many friends? Then make use of kindness, warmth, tolerance, and mercy. For only with the help of these virtues will your spirit be able to shine upon the path of your neighbors, since they are all a direct expression of love. For the spirit harbors love in its innermost being, since it is a divine spark and God is love. (30, 29–36)

71. I now speak to those who are to fulfill their mission as apostles and prophets in other countries, so that they may not boast of the mission I have entrusted to them. They must not cause a stir by opposing religious communities or creeds.

72. It will be others who stir up indignation against you, without realizing that in doing so they will help you spread My teaching by arousing the curiosity of many, which will subsequently turn into faith. (135, 28)

73. When I anchor My divine message within you, it must become a message of brotherhood. But in order for it to impress and move the materialistic heart of this humanity, it must bear the stamp of the truth that I have revealed to you. If you conceal anything, if you keep anything hidden, you have not given a true testimony of what My Revelation in the Third Era has been, so that you will find no faith. (172, 62)

74. How great is the moral and spiritual backwardness in which I find humanity! How great is the responsibility of those who have received the grace and light of My Word in this time!

75. Disciples, become Masters; drive the fear of men from your hearts; banish indifference and sloth; recognize that you are truly bearers of a Heavenly Message. It is you who must provide the explanation for all that is happening in these times, who must strive to reveal the principles of My teaching that humanity has forgotten.

76. You must not repeat My Word to your fellow men exactly as I spoke it to you. Train yourselves so that you may understand how to explain it. Do not seek words to impress through your eloquent speech. Speak in a simple manner that best expresses the truth of the Spirit. (189, 11-13)

77. Be tireless, new disciples, when you speak of this truth. Unaccustomed lips that do not utter My Word out of timidity—open yourselves at the moment of your decision. A single word, spoken in My name, can save a sinner, close the abysses that hinder those who have become rebellious in evil on their path. Do you know the power that My Word possesses? Do you know the strength of your authority?

78. Speak through exemplary deeds and do justice to that part of My work which I have entrusted to you. The rest I will do. (269, 6)

79. When you see others among your fellow human beings teaching the name and the Word of Christ, do not look down on them. For it is written that My return would take place when the Word that I brought to you in the "Second Era" had spread throughout the whole earth.

80. Yet I tell you that there are still places in the world that have not yet received that message. How could today's profoundly spiritual teaching reach those peoples without their first having received the divine seed of love that the Savior gave you in His Word and His Blood? (288, 44)

81. Once you comprehend and feel the truth, you will experience how easy it is for the spirit to follow in the footsteps of its Master, even in the hardest trials. Do all that is possible for you, for I will not ask more of you than you are able to do. Then you will leave the path paved for the new generations.

82. I entrust the children to you and charge you to guide them on the right path. Gather them together, and speak to them of Me with love and devotion.

83. Seek out the outcasts—those who live lost in misery and vice. I will give spiritual power to your words so that they may be the path to salvation when they come from your lips.

84. Open the Book of True Life before the ignorant, so that their souls may awaken and grow as they enter into the revelations of the Holy Spirit. Become like your Master, and you will be heard. (64, 70)

85. I want those who have found the path to teach it in a way that is easily understood and to make it easy for their fellow human beings, so that they do not pave it with stumbling blocks, as many have done, thereby preventing those who seek Me from coming to Me. (299, 34)

86. To you spiritualists I entrust the task of tearing down that barrier which humanity has erected between itself and God—a barrier of false belief, of only apparent faith in the Eternal, of materializations and unnecessary ritual acts.

87. To you, O people, I give the commission to knock the Golden Calf from its pedestal, which people still worship, even though they consider themselves far removed from idolatry and paganism. (285, 54-55)

88. Dispel the false impression people have gained from spiritual teachings, as if these were based on ignorance, deception, and fraud. Show My teaching in all its purity and sublimity, so that it may dissolve the ignorance, fanaticism, and hardening of heart that prevent people from thinking of their spiritual self, from which they have robbed every freedom of action. (287, 42)

89. You who have received these revelations are chosen to proclaim My new message to humanity through the human intellect. Who else but you is to bear this witness?

90. If you expect the dignitaries or clergy of humanity's religious communities to bring this Good News, you are mistaken. For truly, I tell you, even if they were to see Me, they would not open their lips to say to humanity: "Behold, there is Christ; go to Him!" (92, 13)

91. Do not sleep in anticipation of those times of which I have spoken to you, only to then rise up and tell people: "What you now have before your eyes has already been foretold."

92. No, people, it is absolutely necessary that you announce it in advance, that you prophesy it, that you pave the way for the coming of all that I have foretold and promised to you. Then you will have fulfilled your mission as pioneers of spiritualization on earth.

93. When miraculous things begin to appear in the world and the Spirit of the Lord speaks to you through events never before seen, and when the human spirit begins to reveal gifts and abilities never before imagined, you will witness how all creeds, theories, norms, institutions, and sciences are shaken, and then humanity will acknowledge that those who humbly preached a seemingly strange doctrine were right, because their words were confirmed when they came to pass.

94. You will then witness that the peoples of the earth are interested in spiritual instruction, that theologians compare the teachings of Christ with the new revelations, and you will see many who had always been indifferent to spiritual matters take a keen interest in the study of the revelations of this and past times. (216, 16-17)

Mission to Comfort and Heal Those Suffering Physically and Spiritually

95. I have entrusted great gifts to My chosen ones. One of them is that of healing—the healing balm—so that with this gift you may fulfill one of the most beautiful tasks among humanity, since your planet is a valley of tears where there is always pain.

96. With this ability, you have a vast field before you to offer comfort according to My will. I have placed this balm within your being, in the most tender strings of your heart, and you have been refreshed by it; before its miracles your head has bowed, your heart has been softened by the pain of humanity, and you have always walked the path of mercy.

97. Continue to bestow this healing balm, which is not in your hands, for it is transmitted through glances of compassion, comfort, and understanding, passed on through good thoughts, and transformed into healing counsel and words of light.

98. The gift of healing knows no bounds. Never forget that you are imbued with it; and should pain make you its prey because you are being tested, should you be unable to dispel it with this balm, do not forget My teachings, forget your own suffering, and think of others whose torment is greater. Then you will witness miracles within yourselves and among your fellow human beings. (311, 18-19)

99. How prepared must you be to look into hearts and discover what they hold within, what they conceal, and what they need!

100. I have taught you to nourish souls, to heal them, to give them light, and to show them the path to their upward development.

101. Whoever hears this word and keeps it in his heart will be able to become a spiritual guide, a healer, and a counselor. In his word, he will have a gift of peace and comfort for his fellow human beings who are in need of light. (294, 3-4)

102. I give you a drop of healing balm so that, when you are persecuted, you may perform miraculous healings among people. For during the great epidemics, when strange diseases unknown to science break out, the authority of my disciples shall be revealed.

103. I entrust to you a key with which you will open the most rusted lock—that is, the most stubborn heart—and even prison gates, to grant freedom to the innocent and to save the guilty.

104. You will always live in peace and trust in Me, for wherever you go, you will be protected by My angels. They will make the fulfillment of your mission their own and accompany you to homes, hospitals, prisons, and fields of discord and war—wherever you may go to sow My seed. (260, 37-38)

105. People will come, and among them "Thomas," represented by science and materialism, with watchful eyes to investigate; and not only with his eyes, but also with the fingers of his hand, to feel, to touch, because only in this way can he believe in my presence and in the spiritual events that will occur one after another among humanity and of which people must bear witness, so that the "Thomas of the Third Era" may be overcome by my love in his doubt and his materialism. (319, 38)

106. I will give you the instruction as to when you are to set to work; for it will be a time of such great and clear signs that you will hear the call of the Spiritual World and the call of this world, which, through its events, will signal that the hour of your struggle has come. I will speak to you from spirit to spirit and guide you along the way.

107. Yet I want you, before you come to people as teachers, to come as physicians; and when you have then soothed their pain, they may drink from the spring of the pure waters of My Word. First seek out the wound, the ulcer, or the illness, and heal their sufferings, so that you may then turn to their souls.

108. Go to your fellow men as Jesus did in the "Second Era" and bring the healing balm before My Word. But what is this balm, O disciples? Is it perhaps the water of the springs, which is blessed and transformed into medicine for the sick? No, people. That balm of which I speak to you is in your hearts. There I have placed it as a precious essence, and only love can unlock it so that it flows forth unceasingly.

109. If you wish to pour it out over any sick person, it will not be your hands that heal, but the Spirit overflowing with love, mercy, and comfort. Wherever you direct your thoughts, the miracle will take place.

110. You can influence the beings and elements of nature in many ways to bring comfort to all. Yet I also tell you this: Do not fear illnesses, and be patient and merciful with everyone.

111. As for the possessed and those confused in their human minds, you can likewise heal them, for you possess this ability and are to place it at the service of those beings who have fallen into despair and oblivion. Set them free and reveal this authority before the unbelievers. It is one of the great missions of this people to bring light where there is darkness, to break every bondage and every injustice, and to lead this world to recognize its Lord and to behold itself, its inner self, in full knowledge of the truth. (339, 39–41)

The Time to Set Out on the Worldwide Mission

112. Since the world is currently so blind that it cannot recognize the light of truth, nor hear My call within its innermost being, you must pray and gain spiritual ground. For at present you would not be heard, because all peoples are busy preparing to destroy and to defend themselves.

113. People will have to become even more blind when despair, hatred, terror, and pain reach their limits.

114. Nor would this be the right hour to deliver My message, for you would be like voices crying out in the midst of a desert; no one would pay you any heed. (323, 27–29)

115. Only after the earth has been ravaged from one pole to the other, and all nations, all social institutions, and all homes have been shaken to their very foundations, and after humanity has washed away every stain of shame, shall you go forth prepared in My name to bring My teaching to your brothers. (42, 54)

116. When the time has come, you shall set out, beloved people, and make my holy Word tangible to your fellow human beings. As good disciples, you will scatter across the world, and this new Gospel that I leave you will spread. This light emanating from the Sixth Seal will illuminate the humanity of this age, and through it the mysteries will be revealed.

117. My teaching will take root in other nations, and all that people have not discovered, they will come to know through the light bestowed by the Seven Seals. Yet you shall speak of these teachings you have received and instruct people in the fulfillment of My commandments. (49, 43)
