fr-XVII. The Call of God
A Call to the People of This Time:
"People, people, arise, time is pressing, and if you do not do so on this 'day,' you will no longer awaken in this earthly life. Do you wish to continue sleeping despite my message? Do you want the death of the flesh to awaken you—with the consuming fire of your soul's repentance, devoid of matter? Be sincere; place yourselves in the position of being in the Spiritual Life, in the face of the truth, where nothing can excuse your materialism , where you will truly see yourselves in rags—stained, dirty, and torn—which your soul will wear as clothing. Truly, I tell you, there, at the sight of your misery and in the feeling of such great shame, you will feel the immeasurable desire to wash yourselves clean in the waters of the deepest repentance, because you know that you can only go to the Feast of the Spirit if you are pure. Look beyond human selfishness with all its flaws, which are currently your pride and your satisfaction, and tell Me whether you have felt the pain of humanity, whether the sobbing of women or the weeping of children finds an echo in your hearts. So tell Me: What have you been to humanity? Have you been life for them?" (228, 62–63)
A Call to Intellectuals:
"Come to Me, you intellectuals who are weary of death and disappointed in your hearts. Come to Me, you who are confused and have hated instead of loving. I will give you rest and make you understand that the spirit obedient to My commandments never grows weary. I will introduce you to a science that never confuses the intellect." (282, 54)
A Call to the Weary and Burdened:
"Come to Me, you who are sorrowful, lonely, and sick. You who drag the chains of sin with you, you who are humiliated, hungry and thirsty for righteousness, be with Me; in My presence, many of your evils will vanish, and you will feel that your burden is becoming lighter. If you wish to possess the goods of the Spirit, I will grant them to you; if you ask Me for earthly goods, to make good use of them, I will likewise give them to you, because your request is noble and just. Then you will become good stewards, and I will grant you the increase of those goods so that you may share them with your fellow human beings." (144, 80-81)
Call to Spiritual Israel:
"Israel, become the guide of humanity, give it this bread of eternal life, show it this work of the Spirit, so that the various religions may be spiritualized in My teaching and in this way the Kingdom of God may come to all people." (249, 66)
"Hear Me, beloved Israel! Open your spiritual eyes and behold the glory of your Father. Hear My voice through your conscience; listen with your spiritual ears to the heavenly melodies, so that your heart and spirit may rejoice, so that you may feel peace; for I am peace, and I invite you to live in it. I reveal to you the love I have always felt for all humanity— —the reason why Jesus shed His most precious blood in the 'Second Era' to redeem you from sin, to teach you love, and to impress the true teaching upon your spirit and heart." (283, 71)
"Turn your gaze toward Me when you have lost your way; be with Me today. Lift your thoughts to Me and speak to Me as a child speaks to his father, as one speaks trustingly to a friend." (280, 31)
"Transform yourselves under My guidance, feel yourselves as new people, practice My virtues, and then it will grow ever brighter in your soul, and Christ will reveal Himself on your path." (228, 60)
"People, go to the people, speak to them as Christ spoke to you—with the same compassion, with the same determination and hope. Let them recognize that there are paths of upward development that offer greater satisfaction than those granted by material goods. Let them realize that there is a faith that allows one to believe and hope beyond what is visible and tangible. Tell them that their soul will live eternally, and that they must therefore prepare themselves to be able to partake of that eternal bliss." (359, 94–95)
